Man Stabbed Repeatedly On Upper West Side, Police Say

The victim was hospitalized in serious but stable condition after being stabbed and slashed numerous times on West 93rd Sreet.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is attempting to identify a man wanted in connection with an Upper West Side stabbing, police said.

On the night of Saturday, Feb. 16 and unknown suspect sat down next to a 39-year-old man in the vicinity of West 93rd Street and Broadway and threatened to stab the man, police said. The threat led to a physical fight between both men, police said.

The attacker stabbed his victim multiple times in the torso and slashed him across the face during the fight, police said. EMS rushed the victim to Mount Sinai St. Luke's hospital in serious but stable condition.

The supsect fled the scene of the attack and entered the Broadway and 96th Street train station to make his getaway, police said. Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20s standing about 5-foot-9 and weighing around 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red, white and blue shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers, police said.
