Man Stabbed On UWS On New Year’s Eve: NYPD

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - A 28-year-old man was stabbed on Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side hours before the new year, authorities said.

The victim was stabbed in front of a convenience store and Insomnia Cookies at 407 Amsterdam Ave. near West 80th Street about 9:02 p.m. on Dec. 31, police said.

The male suspect fled the area before police arrived, police said.

Medics rushed the victim to St Luke’s Hospital where he is expected to recover.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
