UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A restaurant that has served up healthy meals on the Upper West Side for 30 years will close its doors in the coming week following the owner's decision to move on to a new chapter in her life, according to reports.
Mana, located on Amsterdam Avenue between West 91st and 92nd streets, will close after its last service on Sunday, April 28, the West Side Rag first reported. The eatery's owner Sung-Hee Lee called the closure "very depressing" in an interview with the neighborhood publication, but hinted that she may eventually move on to a catering business.
Lee told the West Side Rag that she will also be moving to her native South Korea for a while to help care for her aging mother.

Mana opened on the Upper West Side in 1989 to provide the neighborhood with a "calm oasis for organic, macrobiotic, vegetarian and vegan cuisine," according to the eatery's website. The restaurant's menu focused on plant-based eating and utilized only local, organic and sustainable ingredients.
