Woman Hit And Killed By Van On Upper West Side: Police

A 43-year-old woman was struck and killed by a van around 11:50 a.m. on the street in front of 201 West 93rd Street, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A 43-year-old woman was hit and killed Monday morning by a van on the Upper West Side, a police spokesperson told Patch.

The collision happened around 11:50 a.m. when a white Nissan van made a left turn onto West 93rd Street from Amsterdam and struck the woman, police said.

Upon NYPD's arrival, the woman was unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the body and head, police said.

She was rushed to St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the van remained on the scene and was not injured, police said.

There are currently no arrests and the investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.

The identity of the woman is being withheld until the family is properly notified.

Earlier in the day, a woman was fatally struck by a car Monday morning while crossing an Upper East Side Street around 6:37 a.m.
