Police Search for Man Accused of Groping Woman in Morningside Heights

The NYPD is looking for a man who grabbed a woman from behind after following her to her apartment.

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is looking for a man who grabbed a woman from behind after following her to her apartment across from the Cathedral of St. John the Devine.

According to police, the 24-year-old woman was walking home at 11 p.m. on Aug. 13 when she was followed to her apartment near 112th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. The suspect followed her into her building and grabbed her butt and genitals over her clothing. He then ran out of the building, police said.

Police are looking for a suspect described as an Asian man, in his 20s, 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and shorts, glasses, black baseball hat and black backpack.
