Scooter-Riding Bandits Mug Man In Morningside Heights, Police Say

Four men riding electric scooters approached a man, displayed weapons and robbed him, police said.

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a group of scooter-riding bandits that robbed a man on his walk home in Morningside Heights, police said.

A 23-year-old man was walking on Riverside Drive near the General Grant National Memorial early Monday morning when he was approached by four men, police said. The men displayed weapons and demanded money and valuables, police said.

The victim was robbed of $50 in cash, electronics and credit cards, police said. The muggers made their getaway by hopping on two electric scooters and heading north on the Westside Highway.

Police release photos of the suspects (seen above) taken on security cameras. The men were wearing dark clothing and covering their faces, police said.
