Teen Mugged In Central Park Near UWS, Police Say

A 15-year-old boy was punched in the head and robbed of his wallet while walking in Central Park.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify three people wanted for mugging a teen inside Central Park near the Upper West Side, police said.

A 15-year-old boy was walking on West Drive near the 97th Street Transverse on Tursday, Feb. 21, when he was approached by three people and punched in the head, police said. The group robbed the teen of his wallet, which contained $30 in cash, and fled the scene.

The victim suffered bruising to his head and refused medical attention, police said. Supsects exited the park at West 100th Street and Central Park West.

The suspects are described as two teenage boys and one teenage girl, police said. Photos of the suspects taken by security cameras were released by the police.
