Teen Shot Outside UWS Public Housing Development: NYPD
A 15-year-old boy was injured in a shooting outside a public housing development on the Upper West Side Thursday evening, authorities said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - A 15-year-old boy was injured in a shooting outside a public housing development on the Upper West Side Thursday evening, authorities said.
The teen was found outside the Amsterdam Houses at 217 W. 62nd St. about 7:30 p.m. with gunshot wounds to his lower left torso and chest, police said.
Medics rushed him to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Hospital in stable condition. He is expected to recover.

No arrests have been announced as of Friday morning. A suspect description of the gunman was not immediately made available.
The investigation remains ongoing.

The Amsterdam Houses is a NYCHA funded housing complex made up of 13 buildings with over 1,000 total apartment units. In 2020, a 44-year-old man was shot and killed outside another building, 70 Amsterdam Ave., within the development.
