Teenager Shot On Upper West Side, Police Say
The 17-year-old victim will likely survive a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is investigating a shooting that occurred outside an Upper West Side public housing building, police said.
A 17-year-old boy was shot once in the chest late Sunday night in front of the Eugenia Maria De Hostos Apartments on West 93rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue, police said. The shooting occurred during a dispute outside the building, police said.
The victim was taken to St. Luke's hospital by private means and is expected to survive the shooting, police said.

The NYPD investigation into the shooting is ongoing and a suspect has not been identified, a department spokesman said.
The Eugenia Maria De Hostos Apartments are operated by the New York City Housing Authority. The development takes up nearly half the block on West 93rd Street between Broadway and Amsterdam and houses apartments, a health clinic, a community center and a literacy program, according to NYCHA. The apartment complex rises 22-stories-tall and contains 220 units, according to city records.
