Tourists Attack UWS Carmine's Hostess Over Vaccine Proof: Cops
Three women from Texas were arrested after attacking an UWS Carmine's hostess who asked to see their proof of vaccination, police said.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Three women visiting New York City from Texas attacked a hostess at Carmine's on the Upper West Side after she asked to see the trio's vaccination cards before they could be seated, a New York police spokesperson confirmed to Patch.
NBC reporter Adam Harding tweeted out a video of the fight that took place outside the popular restaurant at West 91st Street and Broadway on Thursday.

The women repeatedly punched the hostess in the face and broke her necklace, police confirmed to Patch.

Restaurants are mandated in New York City to ask for proof of vaccination for any customer dining indoors.
The three women were charged with one count each of misdemeanor assault, were issued desk appearance tickets, and were told to appear in court Oct. 5, police said. The women were from Humble, Texas, and Houston, Texas.

"A shocking and tragic situation when one our valued employees is assaulted for doing their job — as required by city policies — and trying to make a living," Carmine's said in a statement to NBC.
