Upper West Side Chicken Wing Spots Named Among Best In The City

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Whether you like barbecue, lemon pepper, hot, jalapeno mango, teriyaki, garlic-parm, or any other flavor of chicken wing, you can turn to Eater NY, which put together a list of the "14 Superior Wings in NYC."

Chicken connoisseurs are on an endless journey to find the best wings in New York City, and those living on the Upper West Side just got a helpful hand as two local restaurants were recently named among the best chicken wing spots in the city.

Here are the two Upper West Side superior wing spots, according to Eater:

Chick Chick: 618 Amsterdam Avenue (Corner of 90th Street)

"Estimable chains like Bonchon and Pelicana attract a lot of the Korean fried chicken attention in New York, but here on the Upper West Side, chef Jun Park and BoMee Chu make some serious wings in their own right," reads Eater's description of the UWS wing spot. "Park batters the meat in a thin layer of potato starch and fries the wings twice, once at a lower temperature, then again at a higher one for extra crunch."

"The flesh itself has more of a chicken-y punch than at the chains, thanks to vegetarian-fed birds, while black pepper soy sauce adds a bit of pleasant astringency," Eater adds.

Chick Chick opened in March of 2021 with serious buzz. The restaurant describes its chicken as "juicy and full of flavor."

Blondies: 212 West 79th Street (Between Broadway and Amsterdam)

"At neighborhood sports bar Blondies, it’s all about the wings, which are traditional Buffalo — packed with varying degrees of heat — and meant to be consumed while watching any number of games. Flavors also include honey mustard, barbecue, and honey barbecue," reads Eater's description of the wings from Blondies.

Blondies is an Upper West Side institution and routinely gets included in lists of the best chicken wings in New York City.
