Upper West Side Fire Leaves 8 Injured: FDNY
A dog was reportedly killed in the blaze on West 76th Street.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A two-alarm fire raged for more than an hour in an Upper West Side apartment building early Friday morning, injuring eight people, the FDNY said. The blaze on the second floor of the five-story building at 303 W. 76th St. was reported at 1:35 a.m., a Fire Department spokesman said.
More than 100 fire personnel responded to the scene near West End Avenue and the fire was under control just before 2:45 a.m., according to the FDNY.
The eight people hurt, including one firefighter, had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to area hospitals, the FDNY spokesman said. A dog was killed in the blaze, according to ABC 7.

The fire did not spread to other floors of the building but its cause has not yet been determined, according to the spokesman.
