UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A newly opened Italian eatery at Columbus Circle that sits directly above one of the few three-Michelin star restaurants in New York City was just named among the hottest spots in Manhattan.

Eater NY, the food review and news publication, recently updated its list of the "15 Hottest New Restaurants in Manhattan" for March 2023.

A trio of restaurants earned a first time placement on the ranking, including Bad Roman at 10 Columbus Circle on the Upper West Side.

Bad Roman describes itself as a "modern, maximalist Italaian restaurant" with a menu that "features playful takes on Italian classics."

The menu features black truffle honey whipped ricotta, oysters, shrimp cocktail, arugula and pears salad, calamari, porchetta ribs, pastas, veal, pork, branzino, filets, and more.

Here's what Eater NY had to say about it.

"Think of it as a Buca di Beppo version of a fern bar meets White Lotus-level decadence, one story below the Michelin-starred Per Se," Eater NY wrote. "Look out for inauthentic twists on authentic dishes, built for fun: pepperoni cups with ranch meant to be eaten by hand, ravioli steak, shots in toy car glasses, and trompe l’oeil lemon cheesecake desserts."

It is a massive space with a 250-seat dining room and a bar.

There is also an extensive wine and cocktail list.

It is operated by the high-scale restaurant group Quality Branded.

Bad Roman is open seven nights a week for dinner from 5 to 11 p.m.
