UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — In some pizza pride for the neighborhood, a slice from an Upper West Side joint just got named among the 10 best currently available in New York City.

Eater NY recently published a list of the "10 Top Pizza Slices in NYC This Season."

The ranking featured iconic spots such as Scarr's and Joe & Sal's, but there was an also Upper West Side pizzeria that earned a place on the list.

"If you savor freaky inventions in the pizza world, far Upper West Sider Mama’s Too is a master at it," Eater NY wrote. "The cacio e pepe features three kinds of cheeses along with cracked black peppercorns, but my favorite lately has been the poached pear square, which deploys pear poached as if intended for a dessert and then caramelized in the oven as a sea of gorgonzola washes over it."

Mama's Too! is owned and operated by the same family that runs the nearby Mama's Pizzeria at the corner of West 106th Street and Amsterdam.

The newer pizzeria serves up pies with hot soppressata, calabrian chili oil, hot honey, aged mozzarella, garlic confit, whipped ricotta, sweet gorgonzola, sautéed spinach, pepperoni, and more.

Mama's Too! routinely gets named in best pizza lists, and also got a write up as a critic's pick by Pete Wells in the New York Times.
