'Best Burger' On UWS Spot Closes Suddenly, Report Says
The small Amsterdam Avenue eatery once crowned the Upper West Side's best burger closed suddenly.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A takeout staple on the Upper West Side hailed for its tasty burgers closed suddenly after 30 years in business, according to reports.
Harriet’s Kitchen, located on Amsterdam Avenue between West 84th and 85th streets shuttered with no prior announcement and no note left in the window, the neighborhood blog I Love the Upper West Side first reported.
The closure occurred shortly after the restaurant's landlord and city marshals paid the business a visit, neighborhood publication the West Side Rag reported.

Harriet's Kitchen had limited space, there were only two small tables for customers to eat, but built up a large customer base for its takeout offerings. The food represented a good value for the neighborhood, and the restaurant's burger was named the best on the Upper West Side by the food blog Eating In Translation.
