UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An Upper West Side yoga studio with ties to luxury fitness chain Equinox is facing a lawsuit after a member claimed an instructor groped her during a class, according to reports.

Upper West Sider Melyssa Hurley filed a lawsuit against Equinox, Pure Yoga and yoga instructor Isaac Pena claiming that the instructor made "inappropriate adjustments" to her form during a 2018 Vinyasa yoga class, the New York Post first reporters.

Hurley accuse Pena of grabbing her butt with both hands and pressing his penis against her while he made corrections to her form during a number of different yoga positions, according to the lawsuit. The woman left the class early and complained to the gym's receptionist, but no action was taken against the instructor, the Post reported.

Pena has since been fired from Equinox and Pure Yoga, but for an unrelated reason, according to the report. The yoga studio told the Post in a statement that it takes abuse claims seriously and has a zero-tolerance policy for the behavior.

Equinox offers Pure Yoga classes at its gym on West 77th Street gym, which is located between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway.
