Wonky Wreaths Go On Display At Central Park Art Gallery
The 36th annual Wreath Interpretations exhibit is on display until Jan. 3 at the Armory Gallery in Central Park.
CENTRAL PARK, NY — The city Parks Department has gathered an eccentric collection of wreaths made from unorthodox materials such as peacock feathers, plastic ears, tools and rubber ducks for its annual "Wreath Interpretations" exhibit.
The exhibit, now in its 36th year, is on display at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park through Jan. 3, the Parks Department announced Thursday. This year's exhibit features nearly 40 works created by local artists and organizations.
"As always, the incredible wreaths on display for this annual tradition are exceptionally thoughtful and original," Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver said in a statement. "This year’s collection includes an array of interesting themes, including the many ways we nurture our environment, bodies and communities."

The annual exhibit was organized through the Parks Department's public art program, the department announced. The Arsenal Gallery is located on the NYC Parks Headquarters in Central Park near Fifth Avenue and East 64th Street. Many of this year's wreaths can be purchased to benefit Parks Department programs.
The Arsenal Gallery is open on weekdays, excluding holidays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Parks Department.
