• Wolf Pack Score Two Shorthanded Goals, Edge Comets 2-1 (blueshirtbanter.com) — Utica hockey fans saw the Comets fall 2–1 Friday as the Hartford Wolf Pack scored both of their goals while shorthanded, including a breakaway winner by Adam Sýkora. Despite a late six-on-four push and pulling goalie Jakub Málek, Utica couldn’t find an equalizer against Hartford netminder Dylan Garand.
   

• Buttenschon honors Korean War Vet Donald R. Gregory with citation (oneidadispatch.com) — A 95-year-old Korean War veteran from the area, Donald R. Gregory, was honored in Utica with a special citation from Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, who represents Utica and Rome. The ceremony highlighted his dangerous service as a radio operator with the famed “Golden Dragons” regiment and underscored the often-overlooked sacrifices of Korean War veterans. It also served as a reminder of the community’s responsibility to recognize local veterans’ contributions.
