Mohawk Valley Receives Funding for Water Infrastructure Projects (wktv.com) — Utica is set to receive $24.1 million in state and federal support to upgrade its aging sewer system, aiming to prevent overflows and protect public health. The funding is part of a larger $269 million statewide package that also aids nearby Frankfort and Rome, supporting long-term affordability and local jobs across the Mohawk Valley.
   

2. Don't Forget to Register Your Oneida County Short-Term Rental by January 1 (wktv.com) — If you host a short-term rental in or around Utica, you’ll soon need to register with Oneida County and display a county-issued number in your listings. The nation’s top-ranked Statesmen host struggling Manhattanville in Geneva before breaking for nearly a month, with coaches eyeing extra ice time for depth players and those returning from injury.
   

5. GoFundMe names Oneida County 18th 'Most Generous Community' in US (uticaod.com) — Oneida County has been named the 18th “Most Generous Community” in the U.S. by GoFundMe, thanks to campaigns helping residents like a Utica firefighter with cancer and several Clinton-area families facing tragedy and serious illness. Local donors have already contributed more than half a million dollars, easing medical, travel, and rebuilding costs while neighbors keep supporting each other through long treatments and recovery.
