Here are the top three stories in Utica today:
- Two areas of low pressure, one moving through the Great Lakes and another in the Southeast, will combine off the East Coast and create a large storm. Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for Oneida County on Monday and Tuesday. Utica could get between 10-16 inches of snow. By Wednesday morning, there might be lingering snow showers, but no more accumulation. (Local SYR.com)
- The American Red Cross provides around 80 percent of all the blood used in Central and Northern New York, but there is a blood shortage because people are not donating. The Red Cross is hosting three blood donation events in Utica on Mar. 16-17 and Mar. 21. If you donate blood in March, you will receive a $10 Visa card and be entered into a $3,000 drawing. View the link to see the times and locations of the blood drives in Utica. (WKTV)
- The City of Utica's annual St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday, Mar. 11, was a success! Those marching in the parade started at Oneida Square and went north down Genesee Street, ending at Columbia Street while light snow fell around them. You can see amazing pictures from the event at the link. (Utica Observer Dispatch)
