1 Killed, 1 Hurt In Wantagh Parkway Crash
A car crashed into a tree on the parkway Wednesday afternoon, police say.
WANTAGH, NY –A man was killed and another injured in a single-car crash on the Wantagh State Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
Carlos Arancibia, 61, was driving a 1991 Mitsubishi 3000 southbound when he lost control of the car south of Exit W6– Merrick Road in Wantagh at about 2:42 p.m., State Police said.
The car left the roadway and struck a tree. Arancibia, of Sound Beach, died from his injuries at the scene. The sole passenger, 20-year-old Junior Torres, of Westbury, was injured and transported to Nassau University Medical Center. Police did not say how serious his injuries were.
