SEAFORD, NY — In the wake of a blood emergency being declared last week, you can donate this weekend in Seaford.

The blood drive is on Saturday at the Seaford Middle School.

A significant drop in blood donations after the holiday season has led to an alarmingly low donor turnout, with a decrease by 30 percent in recent weeks, the New York Blood Center said.

Blood types are urgently needed, but especially type O- and B-.

Saturday's blood drive runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the school's cafeteria.
