Boy, 12, On Scooter, Badly Hurt In Crash With SUV On Sunrise Highway: Police

WANTAGH, NY — A boy, riding a scooter, was struck by an SUV on Tuesday morning in Wantagh, police said.

The 12-year-old victim was crossing Old Mill Road on Sunrise Highway when he was hit by a 2014 Honda CRV, driven by a 30-year-old woman, police said.

The woman remained at the scene, police said.

The boy was airlifted by police to a hospital where he is listed in stable condition, authorities said.

There were no other injuries reported. Police are investigating.
