Build Sandcastles For Prizes At Jones Beach This Summer

WANTAGH, NY — More than swimming and sunning, how about building a sandcastle this summer?

The 2025 Sandcastle Contest will be held at Jones Beach on June 26, July 24 and August 28.

Sand sculptors may use sand, water and any other natural materials native to the beach.

Prizes will be awarded for the best sculptors and castles in several categories. Participating will receive T-shirts provided by the Natural Heritage Trust and small gelatos by Yummier Beach Club.

Registration is held at 9:30 a.m. on the boardwalk at the West Games area.

A $10 vehicle parking fee will be in effect. Field #4 is the parking location, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation said.

After registering, each participant will have an hour to build their castles, before the judging begins. An awards ceremony will follow.
