The woman stole the money over the course of a year from an East Meadow car dealership where she worked, police said.

A Massapequa woman was charged Tuesday with embezzling thousands of dollars from an East Meadow car dealership where she worked, according to Nassau County Police.
Crystal Smalls, 39, stole more than $50,000 from Auto World Kia, located at 2520 Hempstead Turnpike, where she worked as a controller, cops said.
Smalls would take cash from deposits and alter slips that reflected the deposits of the checks, police said. She was able to take the money while handling deposits for the company between June 2013 and July 2014, cops said.
