Crime Report: Multiple Car Break-ins, New Year's Day DWI Arrest

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction.

  • A GPS and money were reported stolen from a 1992 blue Buick parked on Riverside Avenue in Seaford between Dec. 26-30.
  • EZ Passes were reported stolen from three vehicles parked on Riverside Avenue in Seaford on Dec. 30. The vehicles the EZ Passes were stolen from are a 2010 gray Nissan, 2003 white Buick and 2011 green Nissan.
  • A GPS was reported stolen from a 2007 white Toyota parked on Riverside Avenue in Seaford on Dc. 30.
  • On Dec. 30, Andrew Vecchione, 33, of Bethpage was arrested at the Nassau County Police Department’s headquarters in Seaford and charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree assault and three vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • A GPS was reported stolen from an unlocked 2009 white Mercedes parked on Ocean Avenue in Seaford on Dec. 30.
  • A GPS was reported stolen from a 2003 blue Honda parked on Riverside Avenue in Seaford on Dec. 30.
  • A tire pump was reported stolen from a 1999 tan Toyota parked on Seminole Avenue in Seaford on Dec. 31.
  • On New Year’s Day, Kevin M Hurley, 20, of Seaford was arrested on New York Avenue near Hicksville Road in Massapequa and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and six vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • On New Year’s Day, a 1995 green Saturn parked on Maple Street in Seaford was reported to have been broken into with the interior light assembly disassembled and a light bulb removed.
  • The rear glass door at on 3348 Jerusalem Ave., Wantagh was reported to have been broken by unknown suspect(s) on Jan. 2
  • A GPS was reported stolen from an unlocked 2010 gray Nissan parked on Sylvia Road on Jan. 2.
