Dead Body Discovered In Nassau Parking Lot Identified: Police

The body is being brought to the medical examiner's officer for evaluation, police said.

MERRICK, NY — A dead body was found on Thursday afternoon in Merrick, police said.

Just after 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the rear parking lot of Merrick Commons on Merrick Road. A 70-year-old man was discovered deceased in a 2004 Ford Econoline van, police said. The victim was identified as Raymond Fico, of Merrick, authorities said.

The body was removed from the scene and brought to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination. The incident does not appear to be suspicious at this time, authorities said.
