Update: Dead Body Found in Wantagh Park Marina

One day after a dead male body was pulled from the marina waters of Nassau County Seventh Squad detectives are still investigating the details of what may have led to the man's death.

Detectives said a white male body was discovered face down in the water of the marina at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday. The identity of the deceased was not released pending notification of his family.

After finding out about the dead body detectives set up a crime scene investigation around the marina, which is located in the southernmost section of Wantagh Park. Nassau County Police Marine Bureau and Emergency Service Unit responded to remove the victim.

Detectives said an investigation is ongoing on the cause of death.
