Deadly Victim Of Police Vehicle Crash Has Been Identified
Marc Salomone, 22, was killed as walked across Wantagh Avenue Friday morning, police said.

WANTAGH, NY — The victim, who was killed on Friday by Nassau police vehicle, has been identified.
Marc Salomone, 22, of Wantagh, was struck and died crossing Wantagh Avenue at Duck Pond Drive North, police said.
Salomone was a transgender female, who identified as Morgan, according to Newsday.

Nassau police's homicide division is investigating, although, as a spokesperson said, it is standard procedure when a death is involved.
Attorney General Letitia James's Office of Special Investigation is looking into the circumstances surrounding Salomone's death. Two officers were headed south on Wantagh in a marked police vehicle when the pedestrian was struck, James' office said in a statement.

Funeral arrangements are complete for Salomone. The wake is on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home in Wantagh. Her funeral Mass is on Monday, Dec. 2 at the St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Levittown, with the burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations made in Morgan's memory to the church, the funeral home's website stated.
