Driver, 80, Crashes Vehicle Into Tree, Nassau Home: Police

The driver and a woman in the home were taken to a hospital on Sunday, police said.

WANTAGH, NY — A vehicle crashed into a Wantagh home on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The 80-year-old female driver lost control of her 2013 Toyota, which struck a residence on Douglas Avenue, authorities said.

The car struck a small tree causing it to fall and shatter a front window in the home, police said.

A 30-year-old woman in the home was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The driver of the vehicle was also brought to a nearby hospital.

The Nassau County Building Inspector responded to the location and deemed it structurally safe.
