Fatal Gunshot; Body Found On Side Of LI Road: Police

WANTAGH, NY — A man was found fatally shot just after midnight on Wednesday in Wantagh, police said.

Officers responded to a call to provide aid on Wayside Lane. When they arrived, police saw the person, a 32-year-old man, on the side of the road with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim has not been identified yet, but he was from Amityville, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
