Police say the blaze broke out just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
WANTAGH, NY. — The arson bomb squad is investigating a fire that took place at a Wantagh residence Tuesday morning, police said.
Nassau County police said they arrived to a Beech Street residence for a fire that had broken out just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, finding the rear of the house in flames. The Wantagh fire department extinguished the flames with the help of neighboring departments; police say the building was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported. The first and second floors of the home, police say, did sustain extensive damage in the blaze.
Tuesday afternoon, police reported that the county fire marshall and arson bomb squad had responded to the scene, with an investigation ongoing.
