Former Wantagh Restaurant, The Nook, Demolished
It had been a popular Sunrise Highway eatery for decades.
WANTAGH, NY — The Nook, a restaurant that sat for decades on Sunrise Highway near the Wantagh Parkway, was demolished on Monday.
It had been boarded up for several months.
The bar/eatery was a popular destination for "Happy Hour" and to celebrate a "Happy New Year." Couples also flocked for the entrees, including chicken and salmon dishes, and enjoyed the cozy decor.

It's not clear if the Nook's space clears the way for the adjacent Sunrise Diner to expand parking.
