GSNC Brings Community Together for the Annual Thin Mint Sprint 5K and Family Fun Walk
Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) hosted the sweetest event of the season, the Thin Mint Sprint 5K Run and Family Fun Walk at Jones Beach
Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) hosted the sweetest event of the season, the Thin Mint Sprint 5K Run and Family Fun Walk at Jones Beach State Park. The event brought together hundreds of enthusiastic runners, walkers and families who enjoyed the scenic backdrop of Jones Beach State Park during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend while raising funds to support Girl Scouts of Nassau County in their mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
“The Thin Mint Sprint has quickly become a favorite tradition, blending fitness, fun and community support,” said Rande Bynum, CEO of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “It’s incredible to see families and friends show up to celebrate together while helping ensure every girl has access to the Girl Scout experience.”
This year’s event raised more than $10,000 for GSNC, helping ensure that all girls can participate in Girl Scouting and have access to life-changing experiences that inspire them to do BIG things regardless of background or economic status.

More than 400 runners and walkers of all ages took part in the Girl Scout Cookie themed event. Every participant crossed the finish line with a box of Thin Mints in hand, a sweet reminder of the cause they were supporting.
GSNC thanks the participants, volunteers and sponsors who made this event possible, strengthening the bonds within the community and creating opportunities for girls to grow, lead and thrive. Following the success of the Thin Mint Sprint, GSNC will continue bringing girls and the community together this fall through events such as the Learn to Soar with American Airlines event, the annual STEM conference, the Raise a Glass fall fundraiser and many more.
