Hundreds Hit The 26.2-Mile Long lsland Marathon Course
Find out which Long Islanders did best in the annual race.
EAST MEADOW, NY — Hundreds from across the area and around the country descended on Eisenhower Park last weekend for the Long Island Marathon.
The winner was Benjamin Tuttle, of Knoxville, Tennessee, who finished the race in 2 hours, 35 minutes, 58 seconds.
Alyssa Salese, of Huntington, was the top women's finisher (and 20th overall) with a time of 3 hours, 4 minutes.

Here's a look at some of the other top Long Island performances.
- Sean Watson, Stony Brook, was the highest finishing Long Islander in 7th place with a time of 2:52.31
- Matthew Belmonte, of Merrick, was 11th with a 2:58.22.
- Pete Alfano, of Wantagh, completed the marathon in 19th place at 3:03.01.
- Islip's Michael Boyd was 12th-best, crossing the time at 2:58.31.
- Cristin Delaney-Guille, of Long Beach, finished #22 overall and number 2 among the women (3:04.17)
- Gustave Karagrozis, of Lindenhurst, was 25th with a time of 3:09.06
- Joseph Connerty, of Bellmore, finished in 26th place with a time of 3:09.07
- Robert Siciliano, of Syosset, came in 30th place (3:09:58.33).
