Inaugural Ironman Triathlon Coming To Jones Beach This Year
Athletes will bike, swim and run in the backdrop of iconic south shore locales.
WANTAGH, NY — Hardcore athletes have a new venue along the South Shore.
The Ironman 70.3 New York will feature the endurance races from the iconic Jones Beach shoreline.
The inaugural Long Island triathlon event is scheduled for Sept. 23.

It starts with a 1.2-mile swim in Zach’s Bay at Jones Beach State Park, followed by a scenic 56-mile bike ride along the Wantagh State Parkway. The competition culminates with a 13.1-mile run along the famous Jones Beach Boardwalk.

"With some of the most beautiful beaches in the Northeast, we know our athletes will enjoy the stunning scenery, beautiful weather, access to New York City, and friendly communities here on Long Island."
The Jones Beach Triathalon will also offer qualifying slots for the 2024 VinFast Ironman 70.3 World Championship taking place in New Zealand.
