Inaugural Jones Beach Ironman Triathlon Has Record 3,800 Athletes
Saturday's event features a 56-mile bike ride along the length of the Wantagh Parkway.

WANTAGH, NY — More than the scenery of Jones Beach, this weekend's inaugural Northwell Health IRONMAN is a record-setter.
Jones Beach State Park hosts the global competition on Saturday.
This is the largest registration for the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon event with at least 3,800 athletes representing countries from across the globe. It shatters the mark by more than 1,500 athletes.

Discover Long Island estimates the competition will stimulate the Long Island economy with, in excess of, $13 million.
"Adding IRONMAN 70.3 to our region’s slate of internationally acclaimed athletic events, from the Belmont Stakes and the famed Triple Crown to the 2025 Ryder Cup, provides tremendous exposure and an opportunity to capture a new audience and boost tourism to Long Island for years to come," Discover Long Island President and CEO, Kristen Reynolds, said.

Participants will navigate Zach's Bay with a 1.2-mile swim, followed by a picturesque 56-mile closed bike course along the length of the Wantagh Parkway. The final leg is a 13.1-mile run along the Jones Beach boardwalk.
