Jan. 18: Meetings, Basketball and More.

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

The three-day Martin Luther King Jr. weekend has drawn to a close and it is time to head back to work and school for many Wantagh-Seaford residents. Here is some of what is on tap for Jan. 18.

1. Check back later on Wantagh-Seaford Patch for a story on how over 100 Maria Regina School students learned about various careers during "What I Want To Be Day" prior to a Hofstra women's basketball game against Northeastern.

2. Learn about some of the latest community projects being planned by the Seaford Wellness Council at a meeting being hosted by the organization at the Auditorium starting at 7:30 p.m.

3. The PTA will hold a meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. at Wantagh Elementary School.

4. Those looking for an activity for their young children can attend  at the from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration is open to children ages three to six.

5. The  and boys and girls basketball teams are in action Tuesday. The Wantagh boys basketball team is at Garden City starting at 7 p.m. while the Lady Warrior hoopsters will host Garden City at 5 p.m. The Seaford boys basketball team hosts Island Trees at 7 p.m. and the Lady Vikings will be at Island Trees for a 6:15 p.m. tip-off.
