Jones Beach Vaccine Site To Close Next Week
The site, which opened in January, will stop providing the COVID-19 vaccine as of July 19.

WANTAGH, NY — A centrally located vaccination site is shutting down. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday COVID-19 shots will no longer be given at Jones Beach.
The makeshift operations will cease on July 19.
Jones Beach was a major spot for residents from across Long Island and the five boroughs to get protection from COVID-19 with the two shots spread over several weeks.

It opened on January 14.
"The downscaling of our mass vaccination sites is proceeding as planned and we are shifting resources to where they are most needed, so we can get more shots into people's arms and defeat this virus once and for all," Cuomo said in a statement.
