Kickoff To Making Strides Against Breast Cancer LI Jones Beach Walk
The annual walk takes place in October.
WANTAGH, NY — The American Cancer Society is holding its 30th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Long Island walk.
The walk is held on Oct. 15 in Jones Beach. It brings together breast cancer survivors, caregivers and families.
The kickoff for the event is Aug. 10 at the Melville Marriott with Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone among those expected to deliver remarks. The American Cancer Society's Dr. William Dahut is the keynote speaker.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the US, except for skin cancers. More than 300,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed this year, the American Cancer Society said.
