Local Networking Group Assists Wantagh Charity

Social Media Club of Long Island collects toys for John Theissen Children's Foundation.

The Social Media Club of Long Island held a toy drive as part of its Dec. 21 holiday party to benefit the John Theissen Children's Foundation (JTCF) in Wantagh.

People who attended the holiday party in Westbury were asked to bring an unwrapped toy that will be delivered to the JTCF Fun Center on 1881 Wantagh Ave.. Social Media Club of Long Island leaders came up with the idea to benefit the JTCF after hearing about the organization struggling to survive due to the down economy. Since mid November the JTCF has been its 19th annual toy drive.

"We like to share and we like to give back to the community," said Social Media Club of Long Island president Hilary Topper of the group's effort to assist the JTCF with its toy drive.
