The third annual "Magic of Lights" drive-through holiday show returns to Jones Beach on Friday. Here's five things to know.
WANTAGH, NY — The annual "Magic of Lights" drive-through holiday show returns to Jones Beach State Park on Friday, with classic holiday scenes and characters such as "12 Days of Christmas," "Winter Wonderland" and "The Night Before Christmas."
The show has become "the holiday tradition for Long Islanders," George Gorman, Long Island regional director of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, told Newsday. "We see thousands of families and their visitors who enjoy an outstanding holiday tradition."
The drive-through light display runs from Nov. 22 to Jan. 4, organizers told Patch.

Here are five things to know about the show.
1. There are more than a million holiday lights stretching over 1 1/2 miles.

2. This year, attendees will be able to peruse a holiday village featuring snacks, games, arts and crafts. Kids will be able to take photos with Santa Claus.
3. New additions in 2019 include illuminated 240-foot "Mega Trees" in the shape of Christmas Trees. The trees play light and music shows.
4. Tickets can be bought online for $25. Those who pay cash at the gate will pay the same price Sunday through Thursday and $30 Friday and Saturday.
5. The show runs 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. It stays open until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
