Man Injures 2 Officers In Nassau Assault: Police

The officers were taking him to a warming center when he became combative, police say.

WANTAGH, NY — A man was arrested in connection with attacking two Nassau police officers who were trying to help him on Monday in Wantagh, Nassau police said.

Officers responded to a welfare check in East Garden City when they found Kysaan Goff, 29, who is without a home, in a parking garage sometime before 10:40 p.m., police said. Goff refused medical attention but asked to be taken to a warming center, police said.

Officers were taking Goff to a Wantagh warming center, and, as they approached the center, he became combative, police said. Goff grabbed an officer’s shoulder and right index finger before bending it, causing a sprain, police said. Both officers subdued Goff while he "violently resisted and swung his arms, attempting to strike them," police said.
