May 24: New Budget Proposal, Playoffs

1. There will be a 30 percent chance of rain today with a high near 77 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The Seaford Board of Education voted last night to put up a revised budget proposal on June 21 after the initial spending plan was by voters last week. Check back later for details on the new budget proposal.

3. The softball won game one of its best-of-three Class A Nassau County Championship series with Plainedge yesterday. The Lady Vikings will try and clinch the county title today with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale. 4. The Seaford girls lacrosse team faces North Shore in the Nassau County Class C semifinals at Denton Avenue Field in New Hyde Park starting at 4 p.m.

5. The boys lacrosse team will face Bethpage in a Nassau County Class B quarterfinal game at Hofstra University with faceoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
