Rodger King Places First for Age Group in Oyster Bay Triathlon
King, 54, of Wantagh excels at the Runner's Edge TOBAY Triathlon and Tri-Relay presented by Engel Burman.
Rodger King of Wantagh recently took his talents to Oyster Bay for the Runner’s Edge TOBAY Triathlon and Tri-Relay presented by Engel Burman where he placed first in the 50-54 male age group.
On an overcast morning with periods of rain, more than 350 competitors tested their strength and endurance on the Long Island course which was managed by the Greater Long Island Road Running Club. The competition included a ½ mile swim in Oyster Bay Harbor, a 12.3K hilly bike ride through Oyster Bay and Oyster Bay Cove, and a 5K run past Mill Neck and Brookville.
King, 54, completed the triathlon in 1:05:30, earning a trophy in the 50-54 male age division which consisted of 25 total athletes. Full results from the triathlon can be viewed here.
