Seaford HS Cheerleaders Praised For Winning National Title
"This is truly a remarkable accomplishment," said Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.

SEAFORD, NY — There was plenty of celebrating over the weekend for the Seaford High School cheerleaders winning the national championship.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman hosted a parade on Saturday.
“This is truly a remarkable accomplishment. This is something you will remember for the rest of your lives. And we will remember it too,” Blakeman said.

It was the Seaford squad's first national title when they won the February event in Orlando.
“The girls deserve this recognition. As everybody said, they’ve worked so hard. They dedicated so much time, as have all your families. We are so appreciative of this day. It’s something that we always dreamed of happening,” County Legislator John Ferrari said.

Ninety-six teams from across the country comprised the Division II Small Varsity category.
Each cheerleader from Seaford received a citation from the county.
