Swimmer Pulled From Ocean Off Jones Beach Dies
A 35-year-old man died after he was pulled from the ocean waters off Field 2 beach, a spokesman said.

WANTAGH, NY — A man died after he was pulled from the ocean off of Jones Beach in Wantagh on Tuesday afternoon, New York State Parks Spokesman Brian Neering told Patch.
The man has been identified as Cecil G. Letts of New Rochelle.
Lifeguards at Jones Beach State Park and New York State Park Police administered CPR to Letts shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday after he was found submerged in the ocean off of the Field 2 beach, Neering said. Letts was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he died.

Letts was in the water with a friend when he was knocked over by a wave and submerged.
Park Police detectives are investigating the incident. An autopsy is pending.
