Veteran Radio Jock Carol Miller, With LI Ties, Named Hall Of Famer
The longtime Q104.3 air personality has been a New York fixture since 1973.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Carol Miller has been a friend to millions of rock music listeners for decades. The longtime Q104.3 air personality has been selected for enshrinement into the Radio Hall of Fame.
She has a half-century of radio work in New York City, but after being born in Queens, Miller and her family headed east to Long Island.
"We moved to the Searingtown area. I went to Herricks High School," Miller told Patch. "I'm on the island all the time. I still have my parents' house, which is my house now."

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Miller got her law degree at Hofstra University.
Miller arrived on the airwaves in the Big Apple in 1973 at WPLJ. A stint at another station, WNEW-FM, would follow. She has been the nighttime jock at Q104.3 for 18 years.

Despite her popularity and longevity, Miller did not expect the Hall to come calling.
"I'm very shocked, actually," she admitted.
The process placed Miller among a list of 24 finalists, before being selected with five other new members of the Hall based in Chicago.
"I was flabbergasted," she said. "I think certainly the fact that-- this is my 50th year-- certainly had something to do with it."
As for Miller's amazing run, she said simply: "I just try to be your friend on the radio."
