Wantagh and Seaford Districts Prepare for Possible Snow Closures
School officials to decide early morning whether to cancel classes due to storm.

The more than foot of snow to hit Nassau County Wednesday means possible school closures in Wantagh and Seaford.
Wantagh Superintendent Dr. Lydia Begley said district officials will monitor snow activity throughout the night and early morning hours before a decision is made on whether to cancel school tomorrow. Dr. Begley said Wantagh Director of Facilities Marty Abrams will be out on the road speaking to the district’s bus company to determine the status of the roads and conditions of the schools and parking lots. Dr. Begley plans to check in with Abrams by phone at 4:30 a.m. and at that time make a recommendation on how to proceed.
"I will make a determination to either delay the school's opening by one or two hours or to cancel school,” said Dr. Begley. “A connect-ed message will be sent out to all parents, students and staff members by 6 a.m. informing them of the decision.”
