Wantagh High School Seniors Shine At Annual Awards Gala

WANTAGH, NY — Dozens of Wantagh High School students were recognized with awards and scholarships.

Valedictorian Skylar Mondelli received the board of education’s Paideia Award for leadership, scholarship and service. Salutatorian Gabriel Avitable was presented with the Superintendent’s Excelsior Award for achievement and dedication.

Sixteen seniors received the President's Award for Outstanding Educational Achievement.

Scholarships were presented by the Forest Lake, Mandalay and Wantagh elementary school PTAs as part of the senior awards gala on May 27.

Max Naglieri received the William D. Desroches Memorial Scholarship, named for a Class of 2025 student who died while on vacation before his junior year.
